Cheap Trick #1
Most people think it happens by accident, but I know better. One of my favorite tricks to create tension in an audience is, while i am preaching, to walk up and stand on the very edge of a raised platform. The closer i get to the edge, the more tension I create. Then, when the tension seems almost unbearable, i take a step backward and watch as the entire audience breathe a collective sigh of relief, knowing that i'm not going to fall off the platform.
Is it a cheap trick? You bet! Does it work? Every time! Why do i do it? I've never grown tired of leading others to Christ! And i will use every means available to me to communicate Christ's love for people. God may not be a vending machine, but the depth of his love for you and me is uncomprehendable!
