It's Been Awhile

For someone who is not prone to procrastinate, I've waited quite awhile to update my blog.  i went to an orientation session for poor saps who's kidneys have gone bad.  No matter how I look at it, none of the options sound appealing.  I can do dialysis three times a week at a clinic, or I can do dialysis six times a week at home.  Let's see:  isn't there an option for "none of the above, just let me pee like everyone else?"  Is that really too much to ask?

I believe in healing, and if God decides to heal just one of my kidneys, I'll take it.  Boy, wouldn't that be something to write about!  FIFTY-SOMETHING-YEAR-OLD MAN WITH CEREBRAL PALSY HEALED OF KIDNEY DISEASE!  You think I jest?  Are you kidding?  I'd take it in a heartbeat!  Ok, maybe in a kidney-flush, but you get the point.

There is another way, and that's to have a transplant, preferably from a live donor.  But, and here's the million dollar question, How does someone go about doing that?  Should I go up to a stranger and say, "Did you know that God gave you two kidneys when you only really need one?  Can I borrow one for the next thirty years?  I promise to give it back."

What exactly are the compatibility requirements for a donor? For example my blood type is A+, does that rule me out. Not a firm offer of a kidney just investigating at this point. I am praying for a healing for you as well.
