Called To Worship

As a Christian and avid book reader, Vernon Whaley's Called To Worship is a book that I am proud to have in my library.  As an author, Whaley has the ability to go through Scripture and provide readers with new insights from passages that have been read scores of times.  Beginning with the book of Genesis and continuing all the way through Revelation, worship is our response to God's invitation and takes many forms.  In the book of Genesis, God "is the Creator and the seed of Woman".  And in Revelation, "He was the Lamb that was slain, the Triumphant King, the Bridegroom, and the Lord of Lords . . ."(331-333)   "God has always wanted a relation with His people, and from the very beginning of this book, we established that the way to a relationship with God through worship.  But worship how?  In the end, all of the old covenant attempts of man came to naught.  That's why Jesus came . . . He walked in human form upon the very planet that we do today, and taught how to live in relationship to God."(250-251)
